It can be hard to find a bar that satisfies everyone. Luckily, Ashley’s has you covered. With dozens of beers on tap, an extensive cocktail list, and a neighborhood bar feel, what more could you ask for?

Ashley’s opened in Ann Arbor in 1983, making it a longstanding institution for students and townies alike. It’s the perfect place to grab one after class or spend a casual Wednesday night, either catching up with friends or making new ones!
As I’m not the biggest fan of beer, you wouldn’t necessarily think that Ashley’s would be one of my go-to bars. However, that would only be because you haven’t tried “The Flirtini”: the pinkest and most delicious martini in Ann Arbor. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s served up in a 10-ounce martini glass.

On a more low-key note, Ashley’s also serves mead from B. Nektar: a mead, cider, and beer brewery in Ferndale, Michigan. The Zombie Killer Cider is an absolute must-try for anyone who is in the mood for something sweet and refreshing. It was so good that I’m planning a trip to their brewery ASAP. But beware of the price tag, a pint of this cider comes out to a steep $9.
One of the many other great things about Ashley’s is their specials. With $2 tacos on Tuesdays, $5 pizzas on Wednesdays*, and $5 specialty fries on Thursdays*, Ashley’s is a prime destination for boozers on a budget. FYI, another little known fact about Ashley’s is their noteworthy bar menu. From hot and crispy French fries to mouth-watering fish and chips, Ashley’s is often wrongly over-looked for daytime and late night eats alike.
Another notable cocktail is the Key Lime Vodka Gimlet; it’s strong, crisp, and tastes like pie in a glass. It’s also on their classic cocktail menu, which is half-off after 10 p.m. every Tuesday, making it one of the best late-night happy hours around, especially since it’s walking distance from Skeeps.

Here are some of their other weekly specials:
Wednesdays after 10 p.m.: $2 Labatt Pints, $3 Bump Shots
Thursdays after 10 p.m.: $4 Shots
*Students Only, 10 p.m. – 1 a.m.
